Hand drying has proven to be just as important for preventing the spread of bacteria and viruses as hand washing. Hand towels don't dry quickly when folded over a rail or ring, allowing  more time for mould and bacteria to breed in them. T-air towel bars spread towels out fully, for fastest drying - way more hygienic.. 

More hygienic, plus you can use the whole towel, as no parts are folded.
